Jeeze: I hope that sort of shit doesn't make you angry. It ain't worth it. I just think the best way to piss of an asshole is to ignore him.

It's somewhat akin to Oscar Wilde's statement that "The only thing worse than being talked about behind your back is not being talked about behind your back."

Wasn't it also Wilde who said "Your majesty is like a stream of bat's piss. You shine out like a shaft of gold when all around is dark."? Or was it Whislter? Maybe Shaw? No, it was Shaw who said "Your majesty is like a dose of clap. Before you arrive is pleasure, but after is a pain in the dong."

Sorry, couldn't help myself, the lead in was too good. You Python fans know who you are.

There is no way I could responsibly answer such a question, but if you were to ask some others on this board (who shall remain nameless), my guess is they'd say that "dong" is all too kind a reference. The difference between "Us" and "Them" (kind of Hemmingway thing) is that our teeth are only bared in defense. I must say I like the idea of a Wolf chained up in front of the house.

well, hopefully those "nameless" ones are not any of the regulars (not that "everyone" has to like me by any stretch - i'm not the easiest person) - i feel bad if i have pissed any of the regulars off though. i'm pretty sure i've made amends with the few i've butted heads with in the past - but i guess i don't know for sure.

As for anyone else - i could care less who likes and who doesn't. I always want to defend "our house" and always defend my friends - just my nature (in real life and forum life)

Well said. And on the subject of animals defending houses, that brings me around to the subject of cats v. dogs. As stated in my earlier post, I respect cats and can see the attraction they hold for folks. However, from a practical point of view until I hear some potential burglar say "Well, I was about to enter the house when I heard a tremendous "meow" that scared the crap out of me", I'll have to stick with my dogs, especially when one considers that I live in a less than reputable part of town and home defense is very important. While my mix breed is large and has a rather imposing set of teeth, the Boston Terrier is the fiercest thing on four legs I've ever seen. My guess is that while the thief is staring down the jaws of the bigger dog, the little one would jump up and clamp on the poor dude's jewels and lock his jaws. But, some of you may have "Attack Cats" that are also very protective of the home, an if so, I apologize to you in advance.

and that's what I like about you, dire. A sense of humour and defender of friends. No need to apologize in my book.
I've reviewed that thread of last nights and when I read TT's sexual/family reference, I went uh-oh!!
then your ex-wife retort had me laughing. You've come a long way's since Tito's dog-lol

There's funny, then there's toooo funny (like a prankster friend who put a little gunpowder in my pipe) Funny....now.

yeah, well, not much powder, and in a small pipe...no explosion, just a flare-up
cigarette charges are fun though...

all i could picture was like a warner bros. cartoon with you just standing stock still, head totally black, wisps of smoke rising in the air, with pipe still in your mouth saying "ouch" - not funny in reality, but funny in my head :)

i didn't have one iota of anger in me at all - i was laughing and having a grand ol time for myself. harkened me back to my old ways on the forum (i am a kinder gentler wolf now).

sorry if my posts offended you man (serioulsy) - didn't intend to piss off any of the regulars - was only having fun. it was just too easy and ignoring them was out of the question for the fun value.

Dire: Maybe a few episodes of "Cesar Milan: The Dog Whisperer" might be in order. You know, the canine version of "How to Make Friends & Influence People." LOL

Truly, ignoring assholes like that would make 'em dry up and blow away, but who's got anything better to do? Getting into a verbal jousting contest with a disrespectful little turd has it's entertainment value if nothing else.

I, for one, think this is a pretty cool little community, and I don't mind leaving Dire chained up out in the front yard to show his teeth at unwelcome interlopers.

that is all it was for me - pure entertainment value - i was laughing myself off my chair trying to piss those two off - sorry if i offended anyone. i could really care less what those two think in reality. can't believe the moron actually put his home address up on the archive - sure hope it was fake - that is damn dangerous.
i was just bored and it had been a long time since i tried to piss off anyone on the forum (everyone else here is too cool) - guess it was kinda selfish of me. apologies all around for being a bit self-absorbed last evening. my bad
